Vegan Passions

I'm a vegan for the animals - the rest of the advantages are gravy (vegan of course!) I'm very political, see the connectedness of oppressions, especially in conjunction with capitalism. When I moved to Asheville, a progressive city, I was excited, but I'm finding that odd belief among humans that "progressive" movements exclude animals and even the environment (crazy, considering without a planet we're all kind of dead). I'm not a bar hopper by any means and finding at least a vegetarian date has been challenging. For fun I read. Oh yeah, bookworm here! I enjoy walks with my dogs, cuddling my kitties, watching things like Mystery Science Theatre 3000 and old movies (and I really enjoy "Bones," too). I think I may need to get out more ;) The main thing I'm looking for in a woman right now is someone who gets it about being veg*n - it's not a fad, or a "thing" to do, but a way of life. I will say I tend to prefer the butch type when I'm initially attracted to someone but in the end it all comes down to who you are. Sincerity is a great asset, a sense of humor (kind of dry) and an appreciation of the absurd and cheesy things about pop culture. :)
