Hi, I'm Jay. After years of working in the non-profit alternative media field (see my links below), and having made a few films and written a book, as well as living abroad in Canada, the United States, and Spain, earning 40k a year, I'm finding myself back in the UK, regrouping after leaving North America, where my relationship with my partner ended. I've done the job, the money, the partying, the business, the marriage, the travel, and everything (so I suppose it's all out of my system!) Money's tight these days as a result, but I'll be well-off again by next year, so if you contact me now, it'll impress me more (ha). Recently had a lovely long-distance relationship that reached a dead-end as neither of us would move (me UK, her Spain). It happens. I've never been good at "selling" myself (or selling out!) but my friends tell me I'm smart, funny, innovative, resourceful, passionate, honest, and sometimes too nice for my own good, whatever that means? Favourite films are Amelie, Ed Wood, V For Vendetta, Super Amigos, and the Corporation. I love books by Douglas Coupland. Musical tastes range from rock to reggae to classical; right now I'm really into Au Revoir Simone, Bill Callahan and Regina Spektor. I'm also geek extraordinaire but can play the Knight too, with a bit of ju-jitsu/tai-chi. Most of my friends are overseas, and I'm starting another social enterprise here in the UK, so am only just getting to know people here again. Having been in an area of work with much socialising, I'm not used to this situation, so thought I'd give this site a go! I guess I'd just like to see what happens, even if it's just the odd dinner date as friends, so if you have herbivorous tendencies, and care more about the world we live in than when the sales are on, get in touch!
